Tullio Bassi - 1937,  he became a violin maker by chance, based on the tradition of his father and grandfather which were wood makers in the beginning of 1900 century, then the passion on violins and strings made him grow as a liutaio. More than fourty years have passed since the construction of his first classical guitar, with which he unexpectedly ranked 3rd in the Bagnacavallo exibition in the 60’s . It all began in the second half of the seventies, when he met the brothers Eolo and Cesare Pezzi, owners of the carpenter's homonymous company, who also had a great passion for music and violin making. Observing him at work in the construction of his first guitar, he sensed its good dexterity and encouraged him to try his hand at other realizations, also obtaining the most suitable types of wood.
One of his reference texts is entitled "The secrets of Stradivari", a fundamental volume written by Fernando Sacconi, an expert and famous luthier who has worked mainly in the United States.
With the guide of this text and with commitment and determination, within a decade, Bassi was able to build violins, violas and cellos, with the techniques that were used by the ancient violin makers.
Valuable musicians have appreciated these instruments built in modern times but with ancient techniques and Bassi does not hide satisfaction and pride when he sees and hears his instruments played by great artists such as Maestro Francesco Manara, 1st violin of the La Scala Orchestra in Milan , M ° Danilo Rossi 1st viola of the La Scala Orchestra of Milan, Maestro Stefano Pezzi playing the cello with the Sinfonica Orchestra of the RAI of Turin, M ° Claudia Zanzotto violinist in the Orchestra of the Teatro Regio of Turin , Maestro Paolo Chiavacci, teacher at the Conservatory of Music in Cesena and 1st violinist of the Modern Orchestra of Cesena / Forlì, Maestro Roberto Noferini, violinist concertist in the most important ensembles
Tullio Bassi since 15 Years is the organizer of an important no-profit concert event called  “Omaggio a Paganini”, where talented Musicians are participating every year.
